Biografie
I live and breath art!!
Raised in Harkstede, a small village in the shadow of Groningen (the Netherlands), I was the kid that could draw so very funny. I did little else. At noon when I came home from school I would drawn piles of paper and when I got home after school in the afternoon, I continued. When I was finally fed up, I dived into the pile of magazines like Eppo and Donald Duck where my brothers and sister had subscriptions to. I remember one time I could not read because my eyes were overloaded by reading that many comics.
In high school I filled the school-paper from front to back with my doodling and it was therefore only logical that I was going to do something professionally with my talent. 'Commercial artist' it just had to be according to my mother because as a cartoonist or artist I would not bring home enough money. And so it was said and so it shall be, although commercial artist is now being called graphic designer.
In the free time besides working, I had a page strip in 'The Riepe, "the street paper of Groningen and in the heavy metal magazine" Headache ". There was also a time in which I provided the coloring of the 'Ambrose' strip from Gideon Brugman and Orion Rose as well as for the comics by Eelco Koper.
Since the summer of 2009 I hooked up with the other gents on this page and we got Drop Comics started. 'Sanguis' is the title where I work on and maybe even find my writing talent with Gert-Jan with a police strip set in the Netherlands in the Seventies.
